Return to the Sacred (A Discussion Course on the Dispelling of Darkness in the World)
The Return to Sacred Video Course engages twenty-seven prominent Catholic Priests, Deacons, Religious, Theologians, and Evangelists to answer the questions: (1) How did we get here to a point in time where the pursuit of secular human rights has become more important than the pursuit of the sacred? (2) What have we lost along the way, and (3) What can we do to turn people back and orient themselves to the sacred?
What do we mean by ‘Sacred’? By ‘sacred,’ we point to the intrinsically valuable things we have received from God. Truly, what comes from the goodness of God is sacred (e.g., life, children, true joy, faith, time, holy space, the immutable essence of the liturgy, and such). Somehow, we have lost a sense that those things are sacred; those things that have been gifted to us from God, and we have replaced them with these secular rights that we have deemed to be sacred (for now – until we change them later) and have raised them to the level of being a type of sacrament, such as abortion rights, children and women abuse rights, race preference rights, voting rights (as long as you vote for the state religion), gender preference rights – name the right and you’ve named their latest sacrament.
